Why subscribe?

Bloody Elbow is leaving Vox Media and relaunching as an independent, reader-supported site.

Covering combat sports since 2007, we have been proud to build our reputation as a publication known for its fearless journalism, editorial voice and in-depth approach to a wide variety of topics.

Bloody Elbow’s willingness to tackle issues surrounding finance, concussion science, and politics, alongside more traditional sports topics has made us an industry leader, and go-to news source not just for fight fans, but for industry professionals, commissions, and scholarly research.

It’s also made us a lot of powerful enemies who would be very happy to see Bloody Elbow go away forever.

We’re here to serve you, the fans, as well as the fighters who make such enormous sacrifices to entertain us.

With your support we can keep independent MMA journalism alive.

Get exclusive content and features

The newsletter will provide—along with a daily delivery of our stories, straight to you—unique exclusive content.

Readers can subscribe to our publication for just $5 a month or a discounted rate of $50 annually.

Join the crew, Shape the New BE

More generous patrons can subscribe at higher tiers ($500 annually and above) for increased perks.

Paid subscribers will get a seat at the table as we decide how to build the New Bloody Elbow. This will be done through exclusive polls and opportunities to contribute on various BE content.

Subscribers at the highest tier will have a chance to communicate directly with the editorial staff and shape BE to truly become what our community most wants.

What’s next for BE?

Bloody Elbow will leave the Vox Media network on March 31, 2023. But we’re not done. We’re just getting started.

After that date the site will become the property of BE Publishing LLC, a corporation created by BE founder Nate Wilcox. More information on the specifics of the new site will follow, but right now we are appealing for your help to set up the new site as quickly and smoothly as possible.

There are a lot of up front expenses involved with our move to independence. We will need to purchase some assets from Vox, hire a team to build the new site and do everything we can to keep our existing staff paid (Nate is determined to get us through this transition with NO LAYOFFS).

With your support Bloody Elbow will stay honest and independent.

Please subscribe now. You won’t be disappointed.
